At 411 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Eckley, or 8 miles east of Yuma, moving north at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Yuma County.

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in the Philippines near Kabankalan, Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, only 14 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at 5:31 am local time at a shallow depth of 13. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Suay (pop. 19,700) located 6 km from the epicenter, Himamaylan (pop. 25,100) 9 km away, and Kabankalan (pop. 136,500) 9 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Binalbagan (pop. 38,600) located 20 km from the epicenter, Isabela (pop. 15,900) 23 km away, Tinongan (pop. 62,100) 27 km away, Hinigaran (pop. 39,600) 28 km away, and La Carlota (pop. 41,200) 45 km away.
