Just 27 minutes ago, a 2.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Murcia, Spain. The tremor was recorded early evening on Monday, December 8th, 2025, at 6:48 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 0. km below the surface.
The event was filed by Spain’s Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 2.6 as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 2.6.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Murcia (pop. 472,000) located 9 km from the epicenter, and Alcantarilla (pop. 41,100) 12 km away. In Santomera (pop. 15,300, 17 km away), Las Torres de Cotillas (pop. 21,100, 18 km away), Molina de Segura (pop. 64,100, 18 km away), Torre-Pacheco (pop. 35,600, 23 km away), Orihuela (pop. 101,300, 24 km away), San Javier (pop. 31,400, 26 km away), and Cartagena (pop. 213,900, 36 km away), the quake was probably not felt.

If you felt it, report it through our site or app right now!
