At 513 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Campbellton to near Tilden. Movement was east at 65 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Mineral, Tilden, Calliham, Choke Canyon, Nell, Tulsita, Karon, Three Rivers, Oakville, Crowther, Pawnee, Simmons, Ray Point, Esseville, Whitsett, and Pettus. This includes the following highways… Interstate 37 between mile markers 62 and 83. US Highway 281 between mile markers 618 and 630. US Highway 181 between mile markers

Just 9 minutes ago, a 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Beylikduzu, Istanbul, Turkey. The tremor was recorded around noon on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, at 1:02 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 13. km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should have been widely felt by almost everyone in the area of the epicenter. It might have caused light to moderate damage.
Moderate shaking probably occurred in Gurpinar (pop. 29,400) located 5 km from the epicenter, Mimarsinan (pop. 31,000) 6 km away, Beylikduzu (pop. 122,500) 6 km away, Bueyuekcekmece (pop. 163,100) 6 km away, and Esenyurt (pop. 211,300) 11 km away.
In Basaksehir (pop. 193,800) located 24 km from the epicenter, Bahcelievler (pop. 576,800) 25 km away, Bagcilar (pop. 749,000) 25 km away, and Istanbul (pop. 14,804,100) 32 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
