The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.0 quake in Cyprus near Limassol, Limassol District, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Sunday, September 7th, 2025, at 1:02 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 50. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 3.6 earthquake.
