* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE…Including the Noatak, Kobuk, and Koyukuk Rivers. * WHEN…Through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS…Excessive runoff from last week’s rainfall is resulting in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – Flooding of roadways has been reported in Kobuk and Allakaket. River levels are also at flood stage in Hughes. An additional 0.50 to 1.00 inch of rainfall is expected in the Southern Brooks Range through Tuesday, which is forecast to prolong high water levels this week. Another rainmaker will arrive Wednesday evening. This may bring another 0.50 to 1.00 inch to the Southern Brooks

Funnel clouds may develop across the James River Valley in North Dakota through this afternoon. These type of funnel clouds are not associated with severe thunderstorms. They are formed by showers or thundershowers when unique meteorological conditions exist. These types of funnel clouds are usually short lived. However, they can and occasionally do touch the ground and cause minor damage. Because of this possibility, if you see one of these funnel clouds, take cover immediately.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE…Koyukuk River near Allakaket. * WHEN…Until noon AKDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 930 AM AKDT, – River levels have continued to come down, but inundation of low lying roads is expected to continue. The streamgage on the Koyukuk River below the John River has shown over a foot of water level drop in the last 12 hours once again.
