At 115 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms 13 miles northeast of East Orosi, or 26 miles northeast of Visalia, moving north at 30 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. At 315 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing funnel clouds and waterspouts over Montegut, or 10 miles southeast of Houma, moving southwest at 10 mph. HAZARD…Waterspouts and funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include… Dulac, Montegut, Chauvin, Cocodrie, Tambour Bay Buoy, and Lumcon Center Buoy.
