Recent satellite images and surface observations showed areas of fog across portions of southeastern West Virginia, southwest Virginia, and northwest North Carolina early this morning. Visibility was as low as one quarter mile. Expect areas of fog to continue this morning with locally dense fog possible until 9 AM. Use your low beams while driving in fog and leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you.

* WHAT…Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE…Shoreline in the City of Alexandria and Arlington County. * WHEN…Until 7 AM EDT this morning, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS…Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Tides between one half foot and one foot above normal. The next high tide at Alexandria is at 6:13 AM.
