The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at the University of Massachusetts (https://bme.umass.edu) is embarking on a strategic hiring program enabled by additional investments from the UMass Institute for Applied Life Sciences (IALS). The BME Department is seeking candidates for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level. Hires at the associate professor level may be considered based on qualifications. The positions are defined broadly to encompass the full scope of biomedical engineering. Specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to: devices, hardware, and instrumentation for biomedical applications; artificial intelligence (AI) applications in BME and biomedical imaging; biomedical engineering applications in women’s health. Benefiting from the university’s strong history of both intra- and inter-departmental collaboration, as well as partnerships with the UMass Chan Medical School, our department is on a rapid ascent.
