A period of strong north-northeast winds gusting up to 55 mph will continue across parts of south central North Dakota early this morning. These strong winds occasionally occur after the passage of a large complex of thunderstorms, and may last one to two hours at your location before weakening. The strong winds may cause difficult driving conditions, especially for high profile vehicles. The winds may also result in downed tree branches, and will blow around objects that are not secured.

At 316 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5 miles southwest of Selden, or 11 miles northwest of Hoxie, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Sheridan County.

At 416 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles southeast of Lower Tahquamenon Falls State Park, or 9 miles southwest of Paradise, moving south at 15 mph. HAZARD…Nickel size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Hulbert, Mackinaw Lake, and Platt Lake.
