Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen since 3 AM. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE…Radar. IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

At 509 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts over marine areas along a line extending from near Golden Meadow to near Port Fourchon. These storms were nearly stationary. HAZARD…Waterspouts. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Locations impacted include… Galliano, Golden Meadow, Leeville, Port Fourchon, and Grand Isle.
