At 1024 PM EDT, Flash flooding is lingering throughout the warned area as excessive runoff continued, the result of rainfall totals as much as 4.5 to 5 inches across the southwest and south sides of Charlotte earlier this evening. Many locales within the Steele, Sugar, Little Sugar, Briar and Mcalpine basins remained in flood, with scattered flooding of structures reported along with several roads closed in the area.
