At 524 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Moscow, moving east at 15 mph. A second severe thunderstorm was located 20 miles northwest of Hugoton, moving east-northeast at 25 mph HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. At 624 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that another round of thunderstorms producing heavy rain were moving into the warned area from the south. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain fell earlier. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Locally heavy rain to the tune of 1 to 2 inches has fallen this evening. While rainfall has exited the area, some localized high water is possible over the next hour or so in the typical low-lying trouble areas, with any high water receding thereafter. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.
