Fog was expanding across inland southeast Georgia and parts of northeast Florida near and north of Interstate 10. Areas of fog impacted the Interstate 95 corridor north of Jacksonville Florida. Visibility may reduce below 1 mile at times. Motorists should be alert for rapidly changing visibility as it can vary over short distances. The fog will lift by 9 am.

* WHAT…Dangerous rip currents and large breaking waves in the surf zone. * WHERE…Core Banks beaches. * WHEN…Through this evening. * IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Dangerous shore break can throw a swimmer or surfer head first into the bottom causing neck and back injuries. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The most likely time for strong rip currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide, which will occur around 3 PM.
