Visibility continues to remain at or below 1 mile due to patchy areas of dense fog, with gradual improvement expected through midday. The worst of the fog is confined to the Minnesota River Valley, however per observations the fog remains dense on the western fringe of the 7 county metro. The low stratus will also gradually burn off through the rest of the morning, with decreasing clouds expected for the rest of the day.

Areas of fog, occasionally reducing visibility to around a quarter mile, persists this morning across parts of southwest Minnesota. Travelers should be prepared for rapidly deteriorating or changing visibility, and use extra caution at intersections and railroad crossings. Conditions are expected to improve by 11 AM to 12 PM.

Patchy dense fog will reduce the visibility to one quarter mile or less in parts of central North Dakota this morning. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing visibilities, and should use extra caution traveling. Use low beam headlights and be extra cautious at intersections and railroad crossings. The fog is expected to dissipate by the mid to late morning.
