At 1029 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Edgecomb, or near Surf City, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and frequent lightning. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include… Surf City, Topsail Beach, Topsail, Woodside, and Edgecomb.
