Water levels initially rise from the lagoon side on Wednesday, the winds shift northwest on Thursday leading to water approaching from the north. The highest water is expected Wednesday afternoon. Water will back up in the river at Kotlik and flooding will occur around houses in low- lying areas. Airstrip use or access may be threatened along with the access road. * WHAT…Water levels rising 5 to 7 feet above the normal high tide line. * WHERE…Northern Seward Peninsula. * WHEN…Until 4 AM AKDT Friday. * IMPACTS…Coastal flooding is likely to occur with water levels as high as 7 feet above the normal high tide line. The highest water levels are expected to be from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon (4 PM to 4 PM). The winds will initially come from from the west-southwest Tuesday evening through Thursday morning, then shift northwest and weaken through Friday morning.
