Minimum profile required

Proven experience in R&D work on electricity and renewable energy markets. Advanced knowledge (specialization) in power systems.

Preference factors

Experience in developing optimization problems and experience with GAMS software. Fluency in Portuguese (spoken and written).

Maintenance stipend: € 1040.98 or 1309.64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

Work description

The fellow will contribute to developing artificial intelligence-based solutions for the automated analysis of polysomnography (vPSG) videos in the context of diagnosing sleep disorders, particularly REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD). The activities to be performed will include:

Training and validation of machine learning models, ensuring the quality and consistency of the datasets used. Development and implementation of computer vision algorithms for detecting and analyzing RBD-specific behaviors in vPSG videos. Integration and testing solutions in a simulated clinical environment, ensuring the applicability of the developed models in clinical practice. Participate in the analysis of results and benchmark the system against manual expert evaluation, aiming to measure gains in accuracy and efficiency. Work description

Research and development of algorithms for analyzing physiological and biomechanical signals acquired by devices with integrated sensors, which will perform electrocardiography, electromyography and movement measurements, among others, during everyday activities. The aim is to identify characteristics and recognize personalized patterns, through artificial intelligence methods, to classify and evaluate different pathologies objectively for early detection or follow-up monitoring. Collaboration in the research, development and innovation project, in the healthcare sector, to create smart devices with biometric, physiological and movement sensing. Collaborate with project partners in signal collection and database organization. Collaborate in the writing of scientific articles, patent proposals and work reports.
