* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE…A portion of northern Utah, including the following county, Tooele. * WHEN…Until 830 AM MDT. * IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry washes. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 626 AM MDT, the public reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. – Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

At 608 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorm over eastern Tooele, Salt Lake and northern Utah County, moving north at 35 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include… Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Layton, Murray, Bountiful, Tooele, Farmington, Grantsville, Park City, West Jordan, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Lehi, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights, Clearfield, Midvale, and Kaysville. This includes the following highways… Interstate 15 between mile markers 278 and 332. Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 90 and 160. US Route 40 between mile markers 0 and 1.
