* WHAT…High Rip Current Risk, life-threatening rip currents. * WHERE…Culebra and St Croix. * WHEN…Through late Sunday night. * IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water, where it becomes difficult to return to safety. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A pulse of long-period northeasterly swell from Major Hurricane Humberto will increase seas across the local waters through the weekend, with breaking waves forecast to build up to 6-8 feet. These hazardous and potentially life- threatening conditions will gradually subside as the system moves away, with coastal conditions improving on Monday.
