At 926 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts over marine areas 16 miles south of Amelia, or 20 miles south of Morgan City. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. HAZARD…Waterspouts. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Terrebonne Parish.
