Fog has developed in portions of the area, especially in valley locations that received rainfall yesterday. Visibility is poor with some spots seeing visibilities down to one quarter of a mile or less. If driving this morning, use low-beam headlights, slow down, and leave plenty of distance between vehicles. Fog should dissipate by around 10 AM.

At 224 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles east of White Sands Missile Range Main Post, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… White Sands National Park, White Sands Missile Range Main Post, and Lake Lucero. This includes the following highways… Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 168 and 192. Highway 54 in New Mexico near mile marker 44.
