* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE…A portion of southwest New Mexico, including the following areas, Lowlands of the Bootheel, Southwest Desert/Lower Gila River Valley and Uplands of the Bootheel. * WHEN…Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS…Expect more moderate rainfall rates today with pockets of heavier rain with a focus being in the New Mexico Bootheel region. Flooding is possible in arroyos, low water crossings, and low-lying areas with poor drainage. While tributary arroyo flows may diminish on Sunday, some of the slower-reacting main washes, such as Animas Creek, may continue to flood, and could cut off access to some rural roads in the Bootheel. * ADDITIONAL
