A storm-force low enters the western Bering Sea this afternoon and lifts to the west of St. Lawrence Island by Tuesday. Westerly to southwesterly winds will turn more southerly by Tuesday morning. Winds increase through Tuesday and peak Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. Gusts at the peak will range between 50 to 65 mph, especially through Cold Bay. There is low confidence in wind gusts higher than 65 mph. Winds begin to diminish from west to east starting Wednesday morning. Residents should secure loose items that can easily be blown around or damaged. Travel may be difficult.
