Light snow or mixed rain and snow will overspread parts of the Fox Valley and lakeshore areas early this morning. Even though accumulations will be light, the snow may result in scattered slippery spots on secondary roads, bridges and overpasses. Motorists should use caution during the morning commute. The precipitation should remain south of the Green Bay Metro area.

At 415 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Summersville, or 10 miles northeast of Mountain View, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Winona, Eminence, West Eminence, and Alley Spring.

Light precipitation entering the region this morning has the chance to begin as a wintry mix including some isolated instances of freezing rain. This could lead to icy spots on area roadways, especially on bridges and elevated surfaces. Temperatures are expected to rise enough by late morning to turn all precipitation over to rain.
