…RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR FRIDAY ACROSS SOUTHWEST TO SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA… .Warm air will work into the area tonight and Friday, bringing dry and breezy conditions tomorrow. Across southwest to south central South Dakota…relative humidity will drop to 15 to 20 percent. Westerly winds will increase in the morning, with gusts to 25 to 35 mph continuing through the day. This will support critical fire weather conditions across the area. The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 9 AM MST /10 AM CST/ to 5 PM MST /6 PM CST/

Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE…San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches. * WHEN…From midnight Thursday night to 9 AM PST Saturday. * IMPACTS…There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. Minor beach erosion and minor flooding of usually dry areas may occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Minor tidal overflows are possible during the highest high tides of the calendar day.
