An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred only 8 minutes ago 114 km northeast of Tuguegarao, Philippines, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10. km beneath the epicenter near Tuguegarao, Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines, early evening on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at 6:25 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.7 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Casambalangan (pop. 3,300) located 84 km from the epicenter, Gonzaga (pop. 7,200) 89 km away, Santa Ana (pop. 6,300) 89 km away, San Jose (pop. 4,500) 93 km away, Tuguegarao (pop. 166,300) 114 km away, Solana (pop. 71,500) 116 km away, and Cabagan (pop. 25,300) 117 km away.
