An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred only 18 minutes ago 67 miles east of Chignik Lagoon, Alaska, United States, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles beneath the epicenter near Chignik Lagoon, Lake and Peninsula, Alaska, USA, early morning on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, at 3:53 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Chignik Lagoon (pop. 78) located 67 miles from the epicenter.
