The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has called for an Air Quality Action Day for high levels of Ozone in the air for today September 16th, and Wednesday September 17th, for the following Southwest Indiana counties, Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, Spencer, Gibson, and Pike. At 1121 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles south of Beaver City to 7 miles south of Almena to 9 miles south of Edmond. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to around 50 mph. At 1108 PM CDT, a weather station near Norton reported a 47 MPH wind gust. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include… Phillipsburg, Alma, Logan, Orleans, Stamford, Long Island, Prairie View, Glade, Speed, and Woodruff.
