The Division of Biological Infrastructure (DBI), within the Directorate for Biological Sciences, National Science Foundation (NSF), announces a nationwide search for a Program Director in the Research Resources Cluster with a particular expertise in Bioinformatics. The Division is recruiting qualified applicants to serve in a rotating position as a visiting scientist. The division is especially interested in scientists with significant research and education expertise in bioinformatics and related topics such as functional genomics, systems biology across biological scales, and noncoding analytics. Preference will be given to applicants familiar with advanced computational approaches in data processing, management and analysis, including applications of data mining, machine learning, algorithm development, and statistics to large biological data sets. The Antarctic Sciences Section (ANT) in the Office of Polar Programs (OPP) announces a nationwide search for a Program Director in the Antarctic Astrophysics and Geospace Sciences Program (AAGS). Formal consideration of interested applications will begin on April 15, 2019 and will continue until a selection is made.

NSF OPP is the designated single point manager for the United States Antarctic Program. ANT supports research in all areas of science in Antarctica and works in close collaboration with OPP’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics Section (AIL), other parts of OPP and NSF, other U.S. agencies, and national Antarctic programs in other countries to support high-priority research in Antarctica.
