Just 14 minutes ago, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Gyumri, Shiraki Marz, Armenia. The tremor was recorded early evening on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, at 7:49 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 8. km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2 as well. Other agencies reporting the same quake include Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) at magnitude 4.2, and the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 4.2.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Amasia (pop. 1,700) located 24 km from the epicenter, Metsavan (pop. 4,800) 24 km away, Tashir (pop. 7,300) 27 km away, Stepanavan (pop. 23,800) 38 km away, Gyumri (pop. 148,400) 38 km away, Akhuryan (pop. 7,700) 39 km away, and Spitak (pop. 15,100) 41 km away.
