An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred around noon on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, at 1:10 pm local time near Oia, Kykládes, South Aegean, Greece, as reported by Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 7. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
