Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.5 earthquake in Indonesia near Kalabahi, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, just 7 minutes ago. The earthquake occurred on the morning of Monday, October 26th, 2026, at 7:32 am local time, at a great depth of 586. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the earthquake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network RaspberryShake, which also listed it as a magnitude 4.5 earthquake.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the earthquake was felt by many people or caused any damage. In Kalabahi (pop. 19,200, 87 km away), the earthquake was probably not felt.

Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.5 just reported 87 km north of Kalabahi, IndonesiaIndonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in Indonesia near Kalabahi, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Monday, October 26th, 2026, at 7:32 am local time at a great depth of 586. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
