* WHAT…Water levels rising 4 to 6 feet above the normal high tide line. * WHERE…Northwest Arctic Coast. * WHEN…Until 4 AM AKDT Friday. * IMPACTS…Water levels in Wainwright will rise 4 to 6 feet above the normal high tide line beginning Wednesday afternoon. Peak water levels will arrive late Wednesday night into Thursday morning (11 PM to 6 AM) then receed gradually through Thursday night/Friday morning. Water levels won’t return to near normal until Friday afternoon at the earliest. This rise is being caused by west-northwest winds around 25 to 35 mph. Extensive erosion of the bluff may occur.
