France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS) reported a magnitude 2.9 earthquake in France near Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, only 3 minutes ago. The earthquake struck on the morning of Thursday, October 22nd, 2026, at 7:26 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 5. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports.
