At 1218 AM MDT/118 AM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 2 miles east of Marcus to 3 miles northwest of Grindstone Butte to 8 miles west of Intersection of Highway 73 and White River. Movement was northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include… Philip, Kadoka, Dupree, Wall, Union Center, Cherry Creek, Milesville, Midland, Interior, Plainview, Quinn, Enning, Belvidere, Elm Springs, Cactus Flat, Cedar Pass, Kirley, Red Scaffold, Billsburg, and Grindstone. This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 99 and 174.

At 1117 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing. HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE…Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
