Rain is falling over the Sterling Highway from the Kenai Mountains to Soldotna early this morning. Temperatures dropped into the upper 20s before the rain moved in, but even with slowly warming temperatures, there may be slippery road conditions due to ice from the residual cold temperatures causing the rain to freeze on roadways and other surfaces.

Patchy areas of dense fog this morning mainly near area waterways, such as streams and lakes. The dense fog will drop visibility to near zero at times. Drive with caution and slow down this morning. Be prepared for sudden drop in visibility. Give yourself extra room between you and the vehicle ahead of you. The fog will dissipate by mid-morning giving way to increasing clouds this afternoon.
