At 815 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Bottoms Bridge, or near Roxbury, moving northwest at 15 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail, and torrential rainfall. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near… Highland Springs around 820 AM EDT. Mechanicsville around 830 AM EDT. Studley around 845 AM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Enfield, Orapax Farms, Etna Mills, Montrose, Sandston, Longdale, Epworth, Westwood, Richmond International, and Fair Oaks.

Patchy dense fog is possible this morning causing reduction in visibility. Motorists should be alert for sudden changes in visibility this morning due to the fog. Drive at reduced speeds…watch for children at school bus stops…and use low beam headlights only. Visibility is expected to improve around 9AM this morning.
