* WHAT…Breaking waves of 6 to 9 feet, and occasionally higher, resulting in life-threatening rip currents. * WHERE…Beaches of Culebra, St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. * WHEN…Through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water, where it becomes difficult to return to safety. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The peak of the swell event is expected late tonight through tomorrow afternoon. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and signs.
