An intermediate-depth magnitude 4.5 earthquake was reported early in the morning near Tiakur, Southwest Maluku Regency, Maluku, Indonesia.
According to Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the quake struck on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at 5:02 am local time, at an intermediate depth of 130. km. The earthquake may have felt weaker because of its relatively great depth below the surface. A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.6 earthquake.
