AUSTIN, Texas – The Kerr County Disaster Recovery Center in Kerrville will close permanently at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11. Specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration are still available to help flood survivors in Central Texas.

At Disaster Recovery Centers, FEMA specialists can explain the types of assistance available to survivors of the July 2-18 flooding, help them update their applications and refer them to other assistance programs. Representatives of the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Small Business Administration are also available to help.

SANTA FE, New Mexico – Hours are changing for two in-person centers supporting New Mexicans affected by severe storms, flooding and landslides that occurred June 23 – Aug. 5.

Starting Monday, Sept. 8, the hours for in-person assistance in Doña Ana County and Lincoln County will change. No appointment is needed. Assistance is available in both English and Spanish.

FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) staff are providing in-person assistance at the centers to help residents apply for federal assistance, including grants from FEMA and low-interest SBA Disaster Loans. SBA’s Business Recovery Center is also located at the ENMU Ruidoso Annex. FEMA staff can help individuals in other ways including checking the status of existing applications and informing residents about additional resources available.

ST. LOUIS – The Disaster Recovery Center at the Urban League Entrepreneurship and Women’s Business Center will be closed for one day on Monday, September 8, 2025. The center will reopen on Tuesday, September 9. Help is still available at the Disaster Recovery Center at Union Tabernacle M.B. Church. 

Disaster Recovery Centers provide face-to-face help for people whose homes and personal property were damaged or destroyed by the May 16 tornado.

FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration are helping impacted residents with their disaster assistance applications, answering questions, and uploading required documents. Both centers remain open until further notice.
