Just 15 minutes ago, a 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Travnik, Srednjobosanski kanton, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia & Herzegovina. The tremor was recorded late at night on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, at 11:39 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 10. km below the surface.
The event was filed by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 4.1.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Turbe (pop. 4,800) located 6 km from the epicenter, Novi Travnik (pop. 10,000) 9 km away, Travnik (pop. 31,100) 10 km away, Donji Vakuf (pop. 8,000) 13 km away, Bugojno (pop. 41,400) 17 km away, and Zenica (pop. 164,400) 28 km away.
