A magnitude 3.4 earthquake near Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, was reported only 15 minutes ago by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in the Dominican Republic. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 0.50 km beneath the epicenter in the evening on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, at 9:48 pm local time.
