The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in the Philippines near Mariveles, Bataan, Central Luzon, only 16 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Monday, August 18th, 2025, at 2:19 am local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 166.86 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2.
