A magnitude 2.8 earthquake near Jaworzno, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland, was reported only 2 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 11. km beneath the epicenter early evening on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at 6:03 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Luszowice (pop. 1,800) located 3 km from the epicenter, Chrzanow (pop. 40,000) 6 km away, Jaworzno (pop. 96,500) 7 km away, Trzebinia (pop. 18,800) 7 km away, and Myslowice (pop. 74,600) 15 km away. In Dabrowa Gornicza (pop. 118,300, 21 km away), Sosnowiec (pop. 227,300, 22 km away), Katowice (pop. 317,300, 26 km away), and Krakow (pop. 755,100, 43 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
