The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.1 quake in the United States near Fritz Creek, Kenai Peninsula, Alaska, only 4 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, at 2:46 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 22 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.0.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Fox River (pop. 690) located 25 miles from the epicenter, Fritz Creek (pop. 1,900) 30 miles away, Homer (pop. 5,500) 38 miles away, Diamond Ridge (pop. 1,200) 38 miles away, Anchor Point (pop. 1,900) 49 miles away, Seward (pop. 2,800) 50 miles away, and Bear Creek (pop. 2,000) 54 miles away.

If you felt it, report it through our site or app right now!
