At 915 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Richland, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… West Richland, West Pasco, Island View, Eltopia, Kennewick, Pasco, Burbank, and Richland.

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake near Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines, was reported only 11 minutes ago by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10. km beneath the epicenter in the morning on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at 11:46 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Manukan (pop. 11,500) located 7 km from the epicenter, and Manukan (pop. 11,500) 7 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Dipolog (pop. 93,500) located 33 km from the epicenter, Dapitan (pop. 85,200) 44 km away, Dumaguete (pop. 113,500) 89 km away, Pagadian (pop. 186,900) 92 km away, Pagadian (pop. 186,900) 92 km away, and Muricay (pop. 132,100) 94 km away.
