An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred only 4 minutes ago 38 km northwest of Anatuya, Argentina, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a great depth of 606. km beneath the epicenter near Anatuya, Departamento de General Taboada, Santiago del Estero Province, Argentina, in the morning on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at 7:40 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 5.7 as well.
