At 916 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms 3 miles southeast of Maysville, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations in or near the path include… Rogers… Northwest Arkansas Regional Air… Gravette… Tontitown… Decatur… Cave Springs… Bentonville… Hiwasse… Pea Ridge… Gallitin… Centerton… Rocky Comfort… Springdale… Gentry… Maysville… Fairmount… Elm Springs… Highfill… Vaughn… Healing Springs… This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 69 and 93.

Small magnitude 2.8 quake hits 38 km southwest of Pau, France early afternoon

Just 3 minutes ago, a 2.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at 2:59 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 1.97 km below the surface.
The event was filed by France’s Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Arette (pop. 1,200) located 3 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Oloron-Sainte-Marie (pop. 12,600) located 15 km from the epicenter. In Mauleon-Licharre (pop. 3,300, 23 km away), Gan (pop. 5,400, 30 km away), Mourenx (pop. 8,100, 33 km away), Billere (pop. 14,900, 35 km away), Lons (pop. 13,900, 35 km away), Lescar (pop. 9,700, 36 km away), and Pau (pop. 82,700, 38 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
