Just 37 minutes ago, a magnitude-4.3 earthquake struck near Denpasar, Kota Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded on the morning of Friday, October 2nd, 2026, at 8:46 am local time, at an intermediate depth of 91. km below the surface.
The event was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, which also listed it as a magnitude-4.3 earthquake. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 4.3.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Uluwatu (pop. 250), located 20 km from the epicenter; Kuta (pop. 30,000), 27 km away; Sukawati (pop. 125,500), 30 km away; Tabanan (pop. 33,700), 31 km away; Denpasar (pop. 725,300), 33 km away; Ubud (pop. 74,800), 45 km away; Banjar (pop. 89,000), 61 km away; and Singaraja (pop. 133,800), 72 km away.
