The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions. We seek candidates at the Assistant Professor level, although outstanding candidates at a senior level will also be considered. Applicants must have the potential to develop a vigorous externally funded research program, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to teaching as well as research. We particularly seek applications from candidates with expertise in natural language processing, reinforcement learning, foundational models, XAI, secure AI, or computer vision, from candidates with dual expertise in AI+X where X is cybersecurity or any core area of computer science (e.g. systems), and candidates whose expertise is in AI applied to X where X is another domain such as agriculture, engineering, or healthcare.

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), College of Engineering, University of Michigan, seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position. Applications are invited in all areas of materials science and engineering, but are particularly encouraged in sustainable metallurgy (including, but not limited to) critical minerals and metals, decarbonization of metals production and processing, and recyclability.

Qualifications:

We seek individuals who can develop and lead an externally-funded research program, collaborate across materials-related disciplines, teach undergraduate and graduate MSE courses, and provide service to the University and the materials profession.
